NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION

How it all started:

When I started to train for a lifetime dream of a backcountry elk hunt, I found no realistic weight system for the endeavor. Web recommendations ran from bags of cement to free weights to rocks. None of these were easy to use or easy to adjust with progress, so the Pack Weight Bag Co was born. Through many prototypes the design has been refined to give users a wide range of weight graduations for a complete training scenario. Below is a breakdown of different weights that can be reached using easily available fillers.

A few more details:

Pack Weight Bags are slender: 4.5 inches in diameter and 24 inches tall, so the weight is distributed throughout the length of your back, not just a lump sitting on the bottom of your pack.

Constructed from extremely durable 1000 D Nylon and YKK zippers, Pack Weight Bags are sewn in Ohio, USA!

Since you provide the filler weight, these bags can change with you, starting with one filled with shelled corn (10 lbs) through all three filled with sand (66 lbs) or any combination you come up with. Being prepared is paramount and Pack Weight Bags can help you train for your goals!

A note on filling Pack Weight Bags:

Filling the bags can be a bit challenging, and a second person to hold the bag is a big help. After many attempts with all kinds of funnels available we found the easiest to use is a Snapple drink bottle, available at most convenient stores. Cut the bottom out and instant funnel!
